25G SFP28 CWDM is designed for 10km / 15km links using Duplex LC. Selection must confirm the host form factor, electrical interface, PMD, FEC, fiber mapping, power and thermal limits, software version and the remote endpoint; the model name alone does not establish interoperability.
Selection FAQ
The channel is chosen per link and has to match the far-end module and every MUX, DEMUX or OADM in the path. 25G SFP28 CWDM is ordered per wavelength, so supply the channel plan: two modules from the same family on different channels will not pass traffic to each other.
Only when several channels share one fiber. 25G SFP28 CWDM over a dedicated fiber pair on Duplex LC needs no filters, but as soon as wavelengths are combined you need matching MUX/DEMUX and must re-check filter insertion loss against the link budget.
Give the host vendor, model and software version at both ends, the SFP28 port or lane mode, the operating temperature range, the quantity per site and the target delivery date. For 25G SFP28 CWDM also state the channel plan or wavelength per link and any MUX, DEMUX or OADM already in the path. Compatibility is confirmed per platform, so the host details matter as much as the optical specification.
