25G SFP28 DAC is a passive Twinax assembly with no retimer, so FEC and lane mode are decided entirely by the two SFP28 host ports. Confirm the FEC mode the target platform expects before ordering, because a passive cable cannot compensate for a host that assumes a retimed link.
Insertion loss across the Twinax pairs, the wire gauge of the ordered P/N and the equalization budget of each SFP28 port it plugs into. 25G SFP28 DAC is built to a fixed length and cannot be trimmed on site, so order it against the measured cable path rather than a nominal rack distance.
