Product overview

800G QSFP-DD 2xFR4 is designed for 2km links using Dual CS. Selection must confirm the host form factor, electrical interface, PMD, FEC, fiber mapping, power and thermal limits, software version and the remote endpoint; the model name alone does not establish interoperability.

  • QSFP-DD 2xFR4 form factor for the defined host-port direction.

  • Dual CS interface for 2km links.

  • WDM single-mode optical transmission; confirm the exact fiber or cable assembly before ordering.

  • Validate host coding, FEC, diagnostics, power, thermal behavior and long-duration stability.

Selection and deployment notes

  • Before ordering 800G QSFP-DD 2xFR4, confirm the exact host, software, port mode, reach, fiber or cable, connector, FEC, temperature, quantity, compatibility coding and delivery version.

Selection FAQ

800G QSFP-DD 2xFR4 selection questions

What reach and connector does 800G QSFP-DD 2xFR4 support?

800G QSFP-DD 2xFR4 uses Dual CS over single-mode fiber, with the specification listing 2km. The achievable distance still depends on the ordered P/N, the installed fiber and the complete link budget.

Will 800G QSFP-DD 2xFR4 work in any port of the same shape?

Not reliably. A matching QSFP-DD cage is necessary but not sufficient: the host also has to agree on the electrical interface, lane mode, FEC, management support and software version, and the far end has to run the same optical PMD. Confirm these per platform.

What do I need to specify to request a quote for 800G QSFP-DD 2xFR4?

Give the host vendor, model and software version at both ends, the QSFP-DD port or lane mode, the operating temperature range, the quantity per site and the target delivery date. For 800G QSFP-DD 2xFR4 also state the installed fiber or cable type, connector and measured link distance. Compatibility is confirmed per platform, so the host details matter as much as the optical specification.
