40G QSFP+ AOC is built to a fixed length, so measure the real cable path including slack, bend radius and cable-management detours rather than the straight-line distance between ports. An assembly that is slightly short cannot be extended, and one that is far too long congests the tray.
Usually yes: 40G QSFP+ AOC is lighter and bends tighter than a Twinax assembly at the same rate, which matters across dense QSFP+ panels. The trade-off is that it draws power at both ends and cannot be repaired in the field.
