40G QSFP+ DAC is a passive Twinax assembly with no retimer, so FEC and lane mode are decided entirely by the two QSFP+ host ports. Confirm the FEC mode the target platform expects before ordering, because a passive cable cannot compensate for a host that assumes a retimed link.
Insertion loss across the Twinax pairs, the wire gauge of the ordered P/N and the equalization budget of each QSFP+ port it plugs into. 40G QSFP+ DAC is built to a fixed length and cannot be trimmed on site, so order it against the measured cable path rather than a nominal rack distance.
Give the host vendor, model and software version at both ends, the QSFP+ port or lane mode, the operating temperature range, the quantity per site and the target delivery date.
